The Karakoram Highway, often called the eighth wonder of the world, stretches 1,300 kilometers from Hasan Abdal to the Khunjerab Pass. Built between 1959 and 1979 by 24,000 workers, this road clings to cliffs hundreds of meters above the Indus River. This unique journey traverses the point where three of the world’s greatest mountain ranges meet: the Karakoram, the Himalayas, and the Hindu Kush. Beyond the massive peaks like Nanga Parbat and Tirich Mir, you will discover the 'Shangri-La' of Hunza Valley and the ancient traditions of the Kalash people. This meticulously planned itinerary ensures proper acclimatization, moving from the lowlands of Islamabad to the high-altitude Khunjerab Pass at 4,734 meters, offering a deep immersion into the geography, culture, and hospitality of Northern Pakistan.
