Overview
Gasherbrum II, rising to 8,035 meters, is the 13th highest mountain on Earth and the third-highest peak of the Gasherbrum massif. Known as the most accessible 8,000-meter peak in Pakistan, G2 serves as an ideal introduction to extreme altitude climbing without the overwhelming technical demands of K2. First summited in 1956 by an Austrian team, the mountain is characterized by its beautiful pyramid form and its location at the 'Throne Room of the Mountain Gods.'
