A Legacy in Pakistan Tourism
ALPINE KARAKORAM ADVENTURE (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED is a Skardu‑born company with our office located in the Olding area of Skardu. We are fully incorporated and operate in strict compliance with the Gilgit‑Baltistan Tourism Department and all local authorities (SECP Reg. No. 0317785, DTS License NO. DTS-GB-077). Our roots are local — our leadership, guide corps, and operational teams are drawn from the valleys and villages that border the Baltoro, Hushe and Shigar watersheds.
Safety and stewardship are the backbone of our operations. We run government‑compliant permit and NOC processes, maintain satellite communications and dedicated medical responders on expeditions, and hold pre‑arranged helicopter evacuation protocols from Skardu. We work hand‑in‑hand with experienced local high‑altitude porters — hiring, training, and ensuring fair pay and clear porter ratios — while enforcing strict environmental waste management in the Central Karakoram National Park (CKNP): all non‑biodegradable waste is packed out, human waste is managed per CKNP guidelines, and camp kitchens follow reusable, low‑impact practices.
We specialize in organizing bespoke adventures across the Karakoram, Himalayas, and Hindukush ranges. Our portfolio covers every level of adventure.
We provide full-service support for the "Giants of the Earth," including the 8,000m Peaks (K2, Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I & II). We also lead technical ascents on 7,000m Peaks like Spantik and Rakaposhi, and 6,000m Peaks including Laila Peak and Mingli Sar.
We support elite climbers on the world's most challenging vertical faces, including the Great Trango Tower and Nameless Tower.
From the legendary K2 Base Camp Trek and technical Gondogoro La crossing to the remote Snow Lake & Hispar La traverse and the lush meadows of Fairy Meadows.
For those seeking discovery without the climb, we curate Cultural & Historical Tours across Skardu, Hunza, and the Silk Road, as well as Jeep Safaris across the Deosai Plains and desert rallies.
We go beyond standard tourism, offering logistics for Trophy Hunting (Ibex/Markhor), Backcountry Skiing, Paragliding, Photography Expeditions, and Boating in high-alpine lakes.
We aren't just another travel agency selling packages from a distant city office—we are the mountains themselves. Born and based in Skardu, at the very doorstep of the Karakoram, we bring over 35 years of hands-on experience navigating the most demanding terrain on Earth.
Our CEO's journey began as a mountain porter in 1990, building this company from the ground up—trail by trail, expedition by expedition. That level of bone-deep knowledge cannot be downloaded or taught in a classroom; it is earned through decades of high-altitude reality.

The glaciers of the Karakoram and the meadows of the Himalayas are more than our office—they are our home. We practice "Responsible Tourism" to ensure that Pakistan's wild spaces remain pristine for generations to come.
On every Pakistan trekking tour and expedition, we enforce a strict "Leave No Trace" protocol. All non-biodegradable waste is meticulously packed out from our base camps and high camps for proper disposal in Skardu.
True sustainability supports people. We prioritize hiring local staff from the specific valleys we visit, ensuring that the economic benefits of tourism directly support mountain communities and traditional lifestyles.
Pakistan holds the world's largest collection of glacial ice outside the poles. We educate our staff and guests on the fragility of these ecosystems, minimizing our footprint and respecting the natural water sources that sustain the valleys below.
